Travel in Mexico is something I do most years and I’m not talking about lounging on one of its many beaches. I go for the history, the arts, the food, and the people. National Palace botanical garden, Mexico City

The botanical garden at the National Palace in Mexico City is unexpected. Most people go to the Palace (Palacio Nacional) to see Diego Rivera’s murals about the history of Mexico and perhaps the temporary exhibit on the Maya, which certainly deserves a permanent home.
